Technorati is indexing me again! They had to make a code change to fix the problem with my blog getting stuck in their queue. Kudos to Eric M. and the guys at GetSatisfaction.com where they have "community powered support for Technorati".
Well, they're "sorta, kinda" indexing me anyway. It's on a 24 hour tape delay or something. So I never get picked up by Memeorandum because they pull from Technorati and Technorati has stuff I posted yesterday listed as my latest blog entry. And that's old news to Memeorandum.
Wankers.
Recent headlines from my Posterous Blog:
Firsit it was the Burkini, a required mode of dress for any woman at certain public pools in England. (See here for an antidote to that particular brand of insanity. - Ed)
Now the EU, under the auspices of the Northern Ireland Human Rights Commission, has banned the use of some common everyday phrases for fear they could cause offense.
The Northern Ireland Human Rights Commission has advised staff to replace the phrase "black day" with "miserable day."
The phrase "gentleman's agreement" is potentially offensive to women and staff should replace it with "unwritten agreement" or "an agreement based on trust" instead. The term "right-hand man" is also considered taboo, with "second in command" being deemed more suitable.
It points out that certain words carry with them a "hierarchical valuation of skin color." The commission even urges employees to be mindful of the term "ethnic minority" because it can imply "something smaller and less important."
These rules sure do imply "something smaller" alright; the size of their brains, that's what's "smaller". In fact, to borrow a phrase from Janeane Garofalo, they're "functionally retarded adults".
I can say that, right? I mean Janeane Garofalo is the embodiment of enlightened thinking and leftist sensitivity, isn't she? She guest-stars on Jon Stewart and Air America! She hangs with the cool ladies from The View!
If there was a more appropriate phrase I'm sure the EU directive would have
mentioned it.
