Although the Left has largely succeeded in undermining America's confidence in itself, one of my beliefs that remains unmolested is my faith in America's basic goodness.   ...   Without realizing it, perhaps, many of you are far more angry and intolerant than people 60 years ago thanks, in large part, to the Drumbeat of the Left, which is tantamount to noise warfare.

The American ethic of "leave me alone" has been corrupted to mean, "Fuck You." It wasn't always that way, of course. Even in my relatively short lifetime, that has changed significantly, which is why I pick on the dope question. Dope, like suicide, is a way of putting infantilism in flashing neon. It lets everyone know "you're special." It lets folks like me know you're worthless. Someone forgot to tell you to pull your head out of your ass and go to work.
