Technorati is indexing me again! They had to make a code change to fix the problem with my blog getting stuck in their queue. Kudos to Eric M. and the guys at GetSatisfaction.com where they have "community powered support for Technorati".
Well, they're "sorta, kinda" indexing me anyway. It's on a 24 hour tape delay or something. So I never get picked up by Memeorandum because they pull from Technorati and Technorati has stuff I posted yesterday listed as my latest blog entry. And that's old news to Memeorandum.
Wankers.
Recent headlines from my Posterous Blog:
People keep asking, "who's in charge of the spill?" Barry says he is, as he heads out for another round of golf. Yesterday we finally found out who's really in charge — bureaucrats. And when nameless, faceless bureaucrats are in charge the name of the game is ... paperwork.
Eight days ago Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal ordered up some crude-sucking barges to begin cleaning up the oil-fouled waters. By all accounts they were effective. But he didn't dot all his i's and cross his t's. So a Coast Guard bureaucrat shut them down.
The Coast Guard ordered the stoppage because of reasons that Jindal found frustrating. The Coast Guard needed to confirm that there were fire extinguishers and life vests on board, and then it had trouble contacting the people who built the barges.
The governor said he didn't have the authority to overrule the Coast Guard's decision, though he said he tried to reach the White House to raise his concerns.
"They promised us they were going to get it done as quickly as possible," he said. But "every time you talk to someone different at the Coast Guard, you get a different answer."
Bureaucracy at it's finest. "Every time you talk to someone different, you get a different answer." Yup. Bureaucrats aren't interested in solving your problem; their main consideration is protecting their own asses. And so paperwork trumps action every single time. And in the progressive socialist utopian's nanny state, paperwork is king.
There's a Facebook joke, "Can we get 1,000,000 people who want to plug the leak with Helen Thomas?"
I've got a better idea.
What do you call 1,000,000 nanny-state bureaucrats on the bottom of the ocean?
A good start.
