Technorati is indexing me again! They had to make a code change to fix the problem with my blog getting stuck in their queue. Kudos to Eric M. and the guys at GetSatisfaction.com where they have "community powered support for Technorati".
Well, they're "sorta, kinda" indexing me anyway. It's on a 24 hour tape delay or something. So I never get picked up by Memeorandum because they pull from Technorati and Technorati has stuff I posted yesterday listed as my latest blog entry. And that's old news to Memeorandum.
Wankers.
Recent headlines from my Posterous Blog:
Now that the Nobel Committee has favored President Obama with a Peace Prize for his potential future successes it's only fitting that we nominate him for other lifetime achievement awards, preferably before he's actually achieved anything. Because, you know, he might, and we want to give him all the encouragement we can.
There is now a
Facebook group seeking to award Obama the Heisman Trophy. Why not?
He's done so much for college football. Hasn't he? Vote early and vote often!
And since Obama threw out the first pitch at the All Star Game I'm sure he can be a contender for the Cy Young Award.
He's actually gotten two Grammys for being a good reader of recorded books ghost-written by an aging domestic terrorist. So why not induct him into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame too?
Finally, in a fit of genius, the Los Angeles Times is certain that Obama is a shoo-in for the Motor Trend Car of the Year Award.
Hey, anything is possible when aspirations trump reality. If by some chance he doesn't win all these awards he can just say it was George Bush's fault!
UPDATE 12 Oct 2009 14:50:
Like Johnny Carson used to say, sometimes the jokes just write themselves.
Obama fails to win Nobel prize in economics
While few observers think Obama has done anything for world peace in the nearly nine months he's been in office, the same clearly can't be said for economics.
The president has worked tirelessly since even before his inauguration to wrest control of the U.S. economy from failed free markets, and the evil CEOs who profit from them, and to turn it over to wise, fair and benevolent bureaucrats.
From his $787 billion stimulus package, to the cap-and-trade bill, to the seizures of General Motors and Chrysler, to the undead health-care "reform" act, Obama has dominated the U.S., and therefore the global, economy as few figures have in recent years.
Yet the Nobel panel chose instead to award the prize to two obscure academics -- Elinor Ostrom and Oliver Williamson -- one noted for her work on managing collective resources, and the other for his work on transaction costs.
There's always next year!
