Technorati is indexing me again! They had to make a code change to fix the problem with my blog getting stuck in their queue. Kudos to Eric M. and the guys at GetSatisfaction.com where they have "community powered support for Technorati".
Well, they're "sorta, kinda" indexing me anyway. It's on a 24 hour tape delay or something. So I never get picked up by Memeorandum because they pull from Technorati and Technorati has stuff I posted yesterday listed as my latest blog entry. And that's old news to Memeorandum.
Wankers.
Recent headlines from my Posterous Blog:
Holland has socialized medicine a la Obamacare. It provides nursing services
to homebound patients. Now the Dutch nurses union is upset because
some patients are demanding sexual services as part of their care.
A union representing Dutch nurses will launch a national campaign Friday against demands for sexual services by patients who claim it should be part of their standard care.
The union, NU'91, is calling the campaign "I Draw The Line Here," with an advertisement that features a young woman covering her face with crossed hands.
The union said in a statement that the campaign follows a complaint it had received in the last week from a 24-year-old woman who said a 42-year-old disabled man asked her to provide sexual services as part of his care at home.
The young woman witnessed some of the man's other nurses offering him sexual gratification, the union said. When she refused to do the same, he tried to dismiss her on the grounds that she was unfit to provide care.
Geez, all it takes is one killjoy and this poor guy can no longer receive the full service care to which he knows he is entitled. This is what happens when you have socialized medicine — rationing of services. Some guys get the V.I.P. treatment, and the rest of us have to take matters into our own hands.
The Dutch care dependents have their own union too. It's in favor of the full service treatment:
The union was most shocked by the reaction of a care dependents interest group, Per Saldo. When the incident became public last weekend, Aline Saers, the group's managing director, expressed sympathy for the man. "They are free to ask," she said. "You are free to refuse."
Yowza!
A client can discuss his sexual needs with a caretaking agency, Saers said, so that it can call upon a specialised escort agency — legal in the Netherlands — for instance. "Sexual help can be so soothing. Some municipalities arrange it," Saers added.
Well Medicare does pay for Viagra, right? Why not go all the way? You
know, "I'm from the government and I'm here to help" might just take on a
whole new meaning!
