Technorati is indexing me again! They had to make a code change to fix the problem with my blog getting stuck in their queue. Kudos to Eric M. and the guys at GetSatisfaction.com where they have "community powered support for Technorati".
Well, they're "sorta, kinda" indexing me anyway. It's on a 24 hour tape delay or something. So I never get picked up by Memeorandum because they pull from Technorati and Technorati has stuff I posted yesterday listed as my latest blog entry. And that's old news to Memeorandum.
Wankers.
Recent headlines from my Posterous Blog:
I have many friends. Some of them are liberals. We get along, provided we don't delve too deeply into discussing politics. But when you spend a week with the same group of friends, inevitably politics comes up.
And so this past week at the beach, the discussion turned to health care reform and how to pay for it. Naturally my liberal friends were giddy with approval for the Dear Leader and his "universal" health care plans. They nodded approvingly at his intention to tax employer provided health benefits and impose an income tax surcharge on high wage earners.
But when the taxes hit them closer to home? Oh then they're all for finding as many tax avoidance schemes as they can. And they do it with a straight face. In their pot and alcohol addled minds "somebody else" should pay for their liberal utopian fantasies.
They're heavy smokers. New Jersey imposes some of the highest cigarette taxes in the nation. So they enlist relatives in Delaware to buy cigarettes for them. The cost differential is substantial. New Jersey law requires that they remit "use tax" on the difference come each April 15th. Of course they don't do that.
But wait, their hypocrisy reaches even farther. Their hometown is undergoing a property tax revaluation. The value of their house has risen substantially since they purchased it 20 years ago. Hence it's likely their property taxes will skyrocket next year. I have another friend (most assuredly not a liberal) who is an attorney specializing in tax appeals.
My liberal friends asked for his number, seconds after praising the tax raising schemes of their White House Messiah. I not only said "no", I said "hell no!"
"If you're so gung-ho for me and other people to pay higher taxes, start with yourself. Pay what you owe," I said.
It hit him like a body blow. He actually recoiled in horror. The prospect of them having to personally fund Obamatopia did not compute. Paying for lavish public employee pensions and featherbedded union contracts is somebody else's job.
My wife says I have to help them fight their tax increase. Oh no I don't.
I don't care about their problems in just the same way the Democrats they
reflexively vote for don't care about mine. Obama and the Democrats are out
to screw me. It's fun to watch some of his enablers squirm when faced with
paying their "fair share".
